Lavinia is a Research Associate specialising in the advanced optimisation of sustainable energy and process systems. She completed her PhD at Politecnico di Milano, where she developed decision-support tools to reduce emissions and improve efficiency in large-scale gas networks and multi-energy districts. Her research focuses on the design and operation of integrated and coupled systems, applying methods such as mixed-integer and nonlinear programming, stochastic optimisation, and machine learning. She is currently addressing the reconfiguration of supply chains, contributing to the transition toward a more sustainable process industry.
